I would say don't go for a foam one (cheapest option). The foam mattress in my son's moses basket ended up with an indentation from where his head was after just a couple of months! I'd hate to think of him sleeping long term on something like that. Go for a proper sprung mattress. Having said that, I wouldn't have gone for one of the super-expensive all singing-all dancing vibrating mattress!!! You just want something that is going to support their spine and give them a good night's rest really.
