This is last year but I think tinsel is needed this year. I'd been a bit anti-tinsel previously but now want some!

I've used a glittery ribbon rather than tinsel for the last couple of years, give a similar effect but a bit more modern. It's 2-3" thick and wired so you can style it easily.
To answer your question though.. Purple.
I would put blue tinsel I think
I'm not a big tinsel fan, think ribbon looks nicer, but blue would go

Yeah you definitely need something. If be adding way more baubles and ribbon rather than tinsel. Bit if you go for to self then purple or pink or blue
Blue or purple tinsel, but I'm with belle and I'd add on lots more baubles.
I think last year we did add more baubles after I took this picture.. I had a look at some tinsel tonight but still don't like it much so may have to go down the ribbon route!
I have 5 different tinsels on my tree.
For yours, i'd go with the others... Purple and/or blue.
I really fancy changing my whole colour scheme now! We were in B&Q and they had some traditional gold and red decs which were lovely. I wonder if I could persuade H to buy new ones ??!
Or maybe keep our pink ones and put gold with it...
