discoid excema advice?

My little boy developed discoid excema in January, seemingly out of nowhere. Steroid creams do help, but the next day the patches will be back to normal. Now applying Oilatum 4 times a day and give almond oil bath 1 or 2 times a week. 

Anyone who is experiencing the same problems with this,  advice to help stop the itchiness would be greatly appreciated, its even waking him up in the night.
