fake crying

Our 19 month old has just started the fake crying. Sometime he just looks at you and starts the fake crying. I have ignored him and walked away. He just follows me and still cries. I have tried to distract him and maybe sometimes that works. It seems like it is getting worse instead of better. Please give me any suggestions.

    My friend cries back! Does an exadurated lower cry back and his daughter just stops and looks at him like he is mad! A bit unconventional but it works! lol!

    Lewis does this, but usually its for attention, he can be in his room playing then all of a sudden he starts crying i go through to see whats wrong and then he laughs at me!, am assuming its just a stage!
