Quinny Buzz - Broken brake, pls help!

Hi everyone,
The brake has broken on our Buzz and I can't work out what's wrong, so thought i'd ask you guys before I crazy!
When I push it down it doesn't do anything, as if it's stuck? Nothing happens.
Can anyone please help me?
