How much money did you save?

Hi ladies,

I am going to post this thread in a few forums to gauge as good an idea as possible so apologies for the duplication!

I just wondered how much people saved before deciding to get pregnant/had their baby?

Hubby and I are currently considering our options and I think I would like to save enough so that I could take a whole year off work and still have a comfortable lifestyle. This coupled with the costs of all the baby stuff (we don't have anyone who would be able to help us out) means about 2/3 years of saving!!!
