e has never asked to go, the kids round here don't really do it but I wouldn't mind if he wanted too. I think its just a bit of fun.

Not a fan of trick or treat here either. We were never allowed as kids, my mum felt it was begging, or even worse threatening due to the trick bit. She used to put on a huge Hallowe'en party for us instead which we invited all our friends to.
