MORNING MUM'S OPPORTUNITY
My name is Lauren Emanuel; I am currently working with Pro-Active West London as a Community Sports Development Officer for the wards in the south of Hillingdon, which the Hillingdon Community Trust supports.
Pro-Active West London and Hillingdon Council are running a project called Active for Life; this project is about helping the community to become active through undertaking physical activity and exercise.
Through this project we are proposing two activities that will benefit from gathering local residents’ opinions in order to gain an insight into what activities the community would like to do.
The first proposed activity is called “Morning Mum’s” . We are proposing to run sport & activity sessions for mothers after the morning school run. These sessions will be designed to enable women to socialise and keep active; and will take place in local leisure centres such as Botwell Green Sports & Leisure Centre.
In order for the community to gain the full benefit of what is available; Pro-Active West London would really appreciate the voice of Hillingdon and are interested in the opinions and ideas of what the community has to say. I would like to create a focus group to discuss ideas for future activities for mothers in Hillingdon.
