Hi all

Has anyone had an enema before labour and if so would you recommend or not?

    They don't do enemas any more.

    Someone in my antenatal class asked about this as she was worried about having an accident in labour. They don't routinely do one but you can request one if you want. I think it is something most people would rather avoid but if its something you are really worried about I can understand someone wanting to have one. They do say that bowels empty themselves ready for labour but I have heard of plenty of people who have had this happen during labour.
