Metformin in PG & Scared. Help!!!

Hi

I have pcos and was on metformin for it.  I got a BFP yesterday and went to the doc today to ask about my medication.  He said to stop taking it straight away.  However online its saying you should stay on it for the firt 12 weeks to avoid mc.

I've been ttc for 6 years and all i feel is scared when i should be happy.  Does anyone know about taking metformin in pg?  and is it normal to feel so scared, i could cry i feel so scared?
