I just want to know if someone can clear this up for me....

I was having a conversation with a lady at work (she's like my work mother she is always fussing around me youd think she was my boss not the other way round lol)

Anyway she has just told me that I have to pay for my scan pictures, is this true?

she said when her grankids where born (the eldest is 5 the youngest is 15 months) and she said when her kids went for the scan they had to pay for additional copies. so she said if I get one for myself she will scan it at home at print copies off for me which I realle appreciate.

I didnt expect to get loads of copies from the hospital but I thought you may have got 2 or 3. Has anyone else had to pay? Maybe im just being naeve SP?

I live in Romford Essex, am going to Queens hospital.

    I did, but its just a donation, we put in about ??3 for 3 photos, it doesnt have to be much.
    Ive also heard that you cant put the fotos through a scanner or you will lose the picture, but i might be wrong.

    I had to pay for mine (somerset) They cost ??6.50 for 2. We've scanned them so we can show people a print out and keep the real ones nice and safe!

    At my hospital i got 3 pics for ??5. One for me, one for my mum,and one for mil.

    When i had my son though i had a spina bifida scare and the pics i had from that scan they gave me for free.

    I had to pay ??2.00 each time and got three pics each time, i can't believe how much some of you have had to pay but its all worth it to see our lo xxx

    i'm in suffolk too but paid ??5 for one picture!! i've been done, but i think jbean lives other side of suffolk to me so different hospital.

    when i had my son in orkney you didnt have to pay
    when i had my daughers scans in cambridge you had to pay ??1 per photo
    and with this little one whos scans were done in wishaw (glasgow) you didnt have to pay for them

    so it really is difrent for all hospitals x

    We paid ??6 for 2 pictures at our 12 week scan! Was a bit suprised but so excited at seeing our baby for the first time I probably would have paid twice that!.....would like to know where the money goes though!

    I dont begrudge paying for them because I really would pay a lot to my my lilttle beans first photo but I just think with all the money we pay for NHS etc they should at least give you some free.

    I get quite annoyed about the government and how they use money for the NHS.

    Hi i went to St John's in Chelmsford Essex and the nice lady gave us two pictures for free. Hubby wanted another set so we paid ??5 for another set of 2.

    We needn't of bothered having the extra set because i scanned them to the computer and printed nice big clear copies for everyone.

    Yeah my friend at work said she scanned her grankids and they come out lovely and clear, think im just going to get that done.

    i`m in wigan and we have to pay ??3.00 per picture, it is a rip off!! x

    We paid for our pics, but it was a donation. They didn't ask for a particular amount. And I was very happy to pay for them. I was just so chuffed to have a picture to take home to show all my family and friends and to gaze lovingly at!!!

    Hi

    I had to pay ??5 for 2 pics and carparking is ??2 - thats at Basildon Hospital in Essex. My friends at Queens and she hasnt paid for any of her pics so far but then she is being scanned every 2 weeks for health reasons so not sure if this is the norm.

    Its expensive stuff! but sooooooooooo worth it!!

    we got our 12 weeks photos free and then paid ??3.50 for 5 photos at 20 weeks, i had 2 more scans done at 28 weeks and 35 weeks and they just gave me one photo for free on the sly each time lol x

    we paid ??2 for each photo. put money in a machine and you get a little yellow ticket to give to sonographer.
