Pregnancy Headaches? Something more?

I saw an article on the front page of Babyexpert talking about headaches during pregnancy and how to cope. While it is true, you may get headaches while pregnant, be careful not to dismiss them for something more serious, like Preeclampsia. Preeclampsia effects 10% of all pregnancies and if not treated can actually take the life of the mother and/or baby; both terrible awful outcomes that can be avoided. It is also the 2nd leading cause of infant and maternal death which is huge for not that many people who know about it!

So while a headache may just be a headache, it could also be a symptom of preeclampsia. Other symptoms include blurred vision, swelling in your hands and face, high blood pressure, and protein in your urine are among others. If you have 1, a couple, or all of these symptoms, please go to your doctor immediately to be treated for preeclampsia. It may just save 2 lives.

On my site, MYpreeclampsia.com, you can read about what to look for, ways of reacting to the diagnosis of preeclampsia, recipes, tips, and how to manage it to increase your chances of having a happy and successful pregnancy.
