Can I use antiseptic cream?

I took a wee slice out of my thumb yesterday cutting a box open :x and today the end of my thumb is a little swollen and quite sore (it's right on the tip so I keep bumping it!!) Can I put a bit of anti-septic cream on it? I know this will heal it straight away but just worried if even the smallest amount could be harmful to baby?

    I'm sure it'll be fine. It's designed to fight bugs, not harm people. They use such small amounts of anything that I wouldn't think they'd be any risk at all.
