New anti-D jabs

At my 28wk check today I was supposed to get my anti-D injection but the midwife told me that as of today there was a new procedure. Apparently you now only get 1 jab between 28-34wks rather than the 2, it's just a larger dosage. She didn't end up giving me it today though as she hadn't read up on it so have to go back for it in a fortnight. Just thought I'd make you lovely ladies aware xxx

Ah that's interesting cos I was wondering why I only got one (at 28 weeks) as there has been another anti-D thread where all the ladies seemed to be getting an extra one at 34 weeks. Makes sense now!

I've always had the 2 jabs so this will be far better as the hospital is quite a drive away

Don't worry Sharon, you won't need to get this jab unless you are rhesus negative.

    Hi,

I know this post is old but I wanted to just ask you a question Based on your Rhesus negative comments.

I am also Rhesus negative (Rh D negative) and I had some brown discharge after an orgasm the night before, I called the doctors they said nothing to worry about but I’ve lost 3 before. My midwife called me and sent me to the hospital for a scan and an anti d injection. Scan was fine baby was fine ( I’m 14w+5) and then I had the anti d injection.

A few days later I’m still having brown spotting occasionally mainly when I first wake up and then once or twice in the day. should it still last this long ???

The anti d injection should protect the baby for 6 weeks they said?

Should I be worried? As I notice you said you had some spotting at 18wk.

    I appreciate any help xxx

I also got only 1 anti d injection at 28 weeks gestation. And now I'm 39 weeks. Nurse told me they will check what blood group baby has when she is born and then they might give another injection withing 24 to 48 hours after birth.
