Help! Perineal Rhinitis getting worse

edited Sep 17, 2019 10:02PM in Pregnancy
4 years before I became pregnant I developed a severe allergy to something in the air that gave me perineal rhinitis. I’ve been fighting non stop since with doctors and specialists to help me as this completely takes over my life and doesn’t allow me to sleep, eat or function properly. They never found out what was causing it. After the standard tests were done they gave up.
Now I've become pregnant (unplanned) my doctor has told me to come off my medication and said it will probably improve now. It has actually got so much worse. I choke on the air I breathe in which makes me throw up. I can’t eat properly or breathe normally which is resulting in constantly bad anxiety. I’m miserable and at a complete loss as to what to do. No one seems to care or understand what I’m going through no matter how hard I try and get it across.
Does anyone have any ideas what I could do/where I could go and get help?

Hi klp20 that sounds awful. I had really bad hayfever until a couple of years ago and it made summers miserable but at least it wasnt all year round. Something I bought about 6 months ago to try and ease my near constant congestion at home (which I thought due to dust/cat hair/pollen) was an air purifier.

The one i bought (Philip's allergen one with nanoprotect filter) was expensive as I wanted the hepa allergen filter but there are others. If not 100% sure it helps but the air in my bedroom feels nicer to breath and the amount of dust and cat hair I pull from the filter makes me glad I'm not breathing it in! My one has modes for general use, pollen and animal dander and then bacteria and viruses which is turbo mode.

It might help you. Hope you find a solution.

    Hi FailingToBePatient,
I do have one but I didn’t spend too much on it so it probably isn’t that effective. I will definitely have a look at the one you have. It does sound a lot better.
    Thank you!
