Is this normal?

Hi first time mum here, I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks ago. Anyways I was in town yesterday while walking round I had to go to the toilets because I had this brownish-red discharge. This would be round about the time I would be on my period. Since this happened yesterday I haven't experianced any morning sickness or extreme hunger is this normal or should I phone the midwife?
I haven't had my first appointment yet so just looking for some advice, also on my first appointment can I request a scan because I am worries? My appointments all the way on Wednesday. Please can someone help I'm so worried
