End of term: do you buy your child's teacher a gift and if so what?

Hi everyone,

The school summer holidays are upon us, and we were wondering, do you buy your child's teacher a gift at the end of term? And if you do, what have you bought?

We would be fascinated to hear what happens at your child's school, and if giving the teacher a gift at the end of term is the norm. We'd love to hear what you buy them too, so please do tell us by posting a reply to this thread.

One of the mums in my youngest's nursery class has done a collection for the two teachers and assistants - we collected about £230 and have got them a personalised vase each, plus gift vouchers and flowers - that's a great results.

I reluctantly ended up doing the collection for my other daughters Year 3 class and we've got about £120 which needs to be split 4 ways (not equal ways though) - gonna get them John Lewis vouchers which i think is quite nice.
