Protruding Ear...

hello, I have a 2 year old son.. normal birth, no complications during the pregnancy.. nothing. As soon as he was born I noticed his left ear stuck out a lot more than his right ear and it curls a little at the top. Sometimes his left ear goes bright red and feels hot to touch. I thought it would proportion itself out over time be it hasn't. Is it something to be concerned and see a GP about or am I worrying about nothing?  TIA
