Brown or white rice

Which is better to serve an 8 month old, brown or white rice. I know brown rice is better for is, but white rice is easier to digest. Help please.

Ooh we only have white, or basmati in this house so thats what my girls have. I did try pre babies to convert us over to brown rice but neither of us were fans. Go with your gut instinct with this one. Im afraid I've no advice.xx

Thanks. I've been doing him white. But me and hubby are on a health kick so only brown served from now on. Will update on here if there is any issues x

Deb Ted - babies at this age don't need a high fibre diet. Brown rice is high in fibre so it may be worth sticking with the white for a while yet.

Saying that, I gave Annabel brown bread from the start (as I don't eat white bread) but always white rice. So Annabel did have a rather high fibre diet from early on, but I do remember the HV telling me on the weaning talk - not to give high fibre.

Henry's been on whole meal bread from the start. But gave him shreddies and they went straight through him, so high fibre def not so good but he loves them. Trying Cheerios tomorrow x x
