Sels it it does sound unlikely and having a hsg myself I know how invasive they are but for the price of a test it would be worth it if it will put your mind at ease.   I remember feeling sore/not quite right after my hsg for a couple of weeks and it is common to experiencing spotting after this although I would of thought sooner than you did.

Alternatively it could be due to fluctuating hormones as your Doctor said.  Do you have another appointment booked with them?  This could also account for the tiredness & depression (also an effect the pcos can have)

Meme I did not spot immediately after the HSG scan, the spotting started 5 days after. No, i do not have any appointment booked with them, i was told to wait for my period and assured that it will come. So i will just wait for the period and if it doest come after 2 days i will go back to my gynecologist.

Hi guys I'm really sorry to post on this reply but but I can't open my own chat and need help. Me and my partner split and I stopped taking the pill apart from a day here and there, and ended up having sex multiple times unprotected. Because of this I came off the pill then 100% as there was a good chance of pregnancy can anyone help with when my period probably should come as I came off the pills half way in but have had no bleeding at all, should I do a pregnancy test?

There is no simple answer for when your period will arrive or if you will conceive.

    Hi Katthy

have you been diagnosed with pcos?

    Hey Mommas + Future Mommas,

    Here is my story-

I was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries at age 22 in December 2015. I get periods about every 2-3 months. Depending on stress factors I've gone up to 150 days without a period. I started my menstrual cycle at age 14.  I had a feeling growing up I would have a fertility problem, but of course when I got the news I was devastated.

Fast Forward to August 2016. My husband and I purchased our first home, adopted a 3rd dog and we were feeling good! I fell pregnant in September. We weren't necessarily trying to conceive but it was the first time we did not use protection for a full month. Unfortunately I mmc'd about a month later - 2 days after our first ultrasound. I lost the baby at 5 weeks 6 days, never heard the heart beat. I knew something was wrong when the baby wasn't further along in the ultrasound. My OB told me it was likely a result of a chromosomal abnormality.

Also know that I was also on Lithium, Lamictal, and Seroquel for a Mood disorder which can all have an effect on development so those could have contributed. Per my pysch & OB I am no longer on the lithium. BUT at least I know I was able to fall pregnant naturally without the aid of fertility meds. I am happy, healthy, and we having been TTC for the past month. Everything is in God's hands and we have one another in the end image

I've seen many posts with people saying either you cant get pregnant with PCOS, it's not impossible or no one has actually shared that they have. So here I go... I've had fertility problems since I was 29, around 32 my irregular periods started to go away. After surgery for PCOS and Endometriosis at 35, still no baby. Fertility drugs did not work either, all they did was make me gain weight which was hard to lose. THEN at 39 and no period for 5 1/2 months, without trying, I found out I was 6 weeks pregnant with twins, naturally. I freaked out- in fear (due to my age). So it is not impossible. 5'2", 135 lbs.

    Hi Ladies,

I was diagnosed with Pcos when I was 18. I had always suffered with stomach problems throughout my teenage years and was first admitted to hospital at the age of 13, where the staff thought it was appendicitis... Fast forward to 5 years later the symptoms continued and started to get me down a lot, I was referred to the gynaecologist through my GP as they were concerned that I had never seen a period, I had a number of blood tests and ultrasound scans done and it was later confirmed that I had multiple cysts on my ovaries and that my CRP level was raised in my blood. I was told by a member of the gynaecologist team that I would find it almost impossible to conceive a child and that they could do nothing for me because of my weight. I did see a dietician at 19 which didn't help me and had also been put on the tablets Dianette and Rigevidon between the ages of 19-21 to help me see a period to no avail. (Rigevidon later made me have blood clots). I had always been a weighty person, who had never had a period - and still hasn't at the age of 24)!

At the age of 22 I joined weight watchers and lost nearly 5 stones, which didn't help me see a period and with recent stress, depression and extreme anxiety I have put it all back on.

I'm just starting to worry that my chances of happiness and of having a family of my own one day are becoming more slimmer.

On top of that I get more body hair and have problems with my scalp which I constantly itch and pick at and am just wondering if this may be linked to my condition? Living with this condition daily is starting to affect me in more ways than one.

I reallt do feel less of a woman with this. Is there any advice out there that anyone can give me?

    Thanks, Tara.

I am 26 years old and I have just been diagnosed with PCOS. I always new somthing was not right and after 6 years of complaining to my GP that somthing wasn't right I was referred to a specialist who went through numerous tests and gave me my diagnoses.

I knew something was not right because I have never had regular cycles since coming off the pill when I was 20, i could easily go 3 months without a period. When they did come they were super heavy and super painful.

Me and my partner have been TTC now 2 years and we have never got a BFP. I chart my temp and have never seen the pattern your are suppose to, it's all over the place.

I am researching a PCOS diet but I am finding it difficult as I don't feel full and I feel hungry all the time. My Bmi is at 29 so I want to do everything I can to bring it down.

My doctor is starting me on clomid next month, I'm just so scared it won't work out for. X

Autumn a bmi of 25-30 is normal.   you could cause yourself more problems by going much lower.

Tara is there anything else your Doctors can try for you?

    Hi everyone x

I'm 28, was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 24 officially, when my periods had stopped,  but it was always suspected in me since I was 17. I was prescribed 500mg Metformin 2x (I wouldn't class this as a fertility drug?) a day to help regulate my menstrual cycle.

My cycle has been 90+ days for the past 2 years, occasionally going over the 90 days and had to take provera to force a bleed. Last month I got my period on CD40 which surprised me so I assumed I had ovulated (for once) at some point, we have only been TTC officially (we just weren't preventing it before) for just over a month and last week I got my first ever BFP. I couldn't believe my eyes, then I went to the GP to confirm but they couldn't detect any Hcg and told me to re test in a week. (Almost) a week later, yesterday, I took 5 more tests with my FMU and all were positive. Went back to the GP, he tested my urine, negative. Tested again this morning with FMU and that was negative too. Starting to think I've had a chemical pregnancy. Me and my husband are absolutely devastated.

But, on the bright side, at least I know I'm somewhat fertile.....

    Hi Emma

sorry to hear about your CP it’s devastating.  hopefully your cycles will stay good, mine changed from always really long to better.  I had 2 Cps in 2015, 2 miscarriages at 6-9 weeks last year but I’m currently 13 weeks pregnant and all seems well so far🤞

Hope you find the light at the end of the tunnel too or the rainbow with the pot of gold maybe I should say
