Wow its been very quiet on here today, I hope everyone is ok.

Clalee that breast feeding coffee morning sounds fab. I don't think they really offer much round here but I don't want to look into it all too much yet. I hope your appointment went well and you weren't kept waiting too long.

Squeezed that is so annoying about the hospital tour, at least they have another one soon though. Hope you find somewhere to deposit your friends!

Chic I am so sorry she got you, hugs. I was so hoping it was your month, definately enjoy a drink on Sunday.

Not much from me, I am ss like a mad women even though it is far too early  Those of you that tested early, how early did you test and how early did you get an accurate result? Just generally wondering really.

    xx

Ah that sucks chic, sorry she got you. Definitely have a few drinks over the weekend, and eat loads of blue cheese and brie!

MrsM it all comes out of the woodwork when they give you a stack of leaflets about 50000 different groups that happen. It's like this bizarre underworld of random mum groups.

I was an awful early tester, the month I got a bfp I was testing with internet cheapies from 6dpo! I got the faintest of faint faint FAINT lines at 10dpo, then a fainty faint frer at 11 dpo. 10dpo was like the slightest shadow, and wouldn't come out at all on photos.

Don't test early!! (much easier said than done I know!) but it's too upsetting and confusing when u think u see a line when u hold it up to the light and face south!!

It's obviously up to you I just think after the bfn's and the maybes it was so nice to test when I was 5 days late and see that line come straight up no questions.

Can't believe how soon some of u are having your babies!! So exciting!!

I got my blood test results today, they just send them to your house over here! All ok except found out I've got A negative blood. Anyone else got that? Think u need injections?

LM - have u named baby yet?? Lucky your not in scotland - u only get 2 weeks there to decide! A school friends brother just had a wee boy and called him Loki!

Hope mums and bumps are all doing well

Ttc-ers hope this is the bfp month! I'm on my own at the start of this journey and I'd like you remaining few to join me please! image

    Hi ladies!

Hope everyone's ok. Think I'm a bit behind!

All this bf talk sounds v painful. My mum always tells me about cracked bleeding nipples... Determined to give it my best shot and to succeed but I am not expecting it to be easy. Why are some of the most natural things in the world so painful?!

Chic- sorry about af. Hope you're doing ok. It's always such a horrible day. image when are your apps?

Flo- yay for a full night sleep! What a good boy!

Squeezed- v annoying about the tour. Hope Sunday goes better!

15 weeks today ladies and we have a pear! Mw app is Monday, which I am looking forward to following my stressful week of spotting and gp apps this week. Hopefully things are going well now though and mw can find a good, normal heartbeat.

    Happy Friday everyone! X x

Aw Chic, ame on here especially to look for an update from you, I'm sorry she turned up again image CD1 sucks, so hope you're OK today, but sounds like lots of vino will be required on Sunday! Hope you manage to get some answers to when your FC appt will be, have you rang them again?

MrsM, step away from the tests  Easier said than done but I was a terrible earlier testes but have managed to kick the habit now, it was getting too bloody expensive! Although I do have a stock of internet cheapies, FR and CBdigi, should I ever get the need again!

Squeezed, hope its 2nd time lucky with the hospital visit! Hope they're more organised if you have to go there to give birth!!

Rachey, can't believe your 15weeks already, time is flying we'll be waiting on your birth announcement before we know it!

Clalee, bet it must seem really strange getting ready to finish work! It feels really strange at work without my friend who finished two weeks ago, I worked very closely with her and feel like my right arm is missing at the minute  She was due yesterday but no sign as yet!

Can't believe you and squeezed are on final countdowns now image

Sue, sounds like a strange system they've got over in NZ from what you posted on FB, hope your ealry scan reassures you of things a bit more! Has it sunk in yet??

AFM, hoping to go back to see our GP later if we can get an appt to get hubs referred, hope the GP isn't arsey with us and just does it so we can get the ball rolling! I have however decided to use my CBFM again this month, 2months without was good to a point but not knowing when to expect AF was a bit stressful. Only peed on my 1st stick this morning and got a high, so hoping the peak isn't far away.

    Morning Ladies

Squeezed  at the underworld of random mum groups. I will probably be surprised about the amoint of them. The only one I know about is a mum and baby music group and thats only because it was at our wedding venue and on the afternoon before meaning we couldn't decorate one of the rooms!

Sue you have some patience waiting until 5 days late. I know you are right though, I am just feeling a bit impatient  I'm with Vickster it does sound like a strange system they have going on, I hope you can get sorted soon.

Rachey loving the pear! Can't beleive you are 15 weeks either, seems to have flown.

Vickster I have stepped away, well for now! I have a little stash of tests waiting for me, a couple of cheapies and the ones Rachey sent me image Hope it goes ok at the doctors hun.

Well af is due Tuesday, hubs was trying to convince me to test on Monday as we'll be together but we shall see. The thing that makes me a bit wary is that my lp is only 11 days, I know its not that short but I know there would be no point testing 4 days before if you see what I mean. I have to say I do get the feeling I am setting myself up for disappointment this time, oh well

    xx

Vickster- hope gp appt goes well and you get your referral. So glad hubs is ready for next step. I still have 25 weeks until my ba, although it's weird to think it's 10 weeks already since I was only 5 weeks if that makes sense?

Mrsm- really hoping one of those tests is lucky for you! My first bfp was on an ic a friend had given me- sure it's good to share the luck around!

squeezed - I hope sundays tour goes better.

Chic - I'm really sorry she got you, have a drink or two for me as well, I'm getting seriously fed up of the lack of selection of non-alcoholic drinks in our local pub. Hubs was moaning about it last night and this is only the second week he's not been drinking.

MrsM - squeezed is right, I had no idea just how many baby groups there are around here before I was pregnant, but there are tonnes of them. Chatting to the new mums when they come back to aqua-natal (there are regular cake and drinks sessions afterwards especially for the new mums to come abck and say hi) has bee really interesting one of them brough the book she'd been given on the post-natal ward of baby groups and support services both nhs run and otherwise and it was huge, A5 and at least half an inch thick if not thicker.

I didn't test early, I only saw one bfn but I had an extra long cycle that month. The month I got my bfp I probably tested about 4/5 days after af was due just incase I was having another long cycle, I really didn't want to have that dissapointment again. Af is much eaasier to cope with than a bfn.

Sue - it sounds like a very odd sytem there, I'm fairly sure being rhesus -ve does mean injections, but I'm not sure of the details as I'm o+.

I'm going to have to do some checking now I thought I had 3 weeks to register our little man once he was born. Not that doing it sooner should be a problem. I was wondering the other day what happens if you don't register within the time limit, surely they'd let you register anyway it wouldn't be fair on the child so what's the penalty. I don't think I'll test it though.

Rachey - yay for being 15 weeks, that seems to have flown by, hope all goes well with the MW.

Vickster - nice to see you, hope the gp appointment goes well.

I'm not sure I'll be missed around here other than possibly by the man who's mean to be running my code and doing the analysis (he's been meant o be doign he analysis for ages but always takes forever about it.) computers are not really his thing. I'm expecting a few emails when it all goes wrong, even though he's already got detailed instructions from me. It's too much to hope he'll actually look at it before I leave. I'm not sure I quite believe I'm on the final countdown now either.

ok I'm useless I mean to also say that the midwife appointment went well, he's still head down but not engaged yet. Once he stopped kicking at the doppler she managed to listen to a nice strong steady heart beat though he really was a wriggle bum yesterday, maybe it's got something to do with spending over an hour sitting waiting in a rediculously hot waiting room. All the tests were fine, and she even managed to get blood from me on the third attempt (which is a huge improvement on last time). She said to go back in two weeks if he's not arrived by then. Given he's not started to engage yet, I'm fairly sure I'll be back in two weeks.

    Hi all

Sue I'm sure LiB has a -ve blood group, she mentioned something about having to get injections at certain weeks

Mrsm good luck with the not testing

Vickster hope your Gp will refer you,he's got no reason not to your both entitled to see a specialist

Rachey hope the mw appointment goes well

afm the cbfm finally turned up this week (it was sat at the post office collection centre for 3 days as I wasn't in) I got my delivery charge refunded from the seller too as he forgot to post it in the time he said!! the big switch on wont be for another 10 days or so tho
  • Options
ok it's not got instructions with it
  • Options
Wibble, you can get all the instructions you need online. I found the actual instructions complicated so finding user recommendations etc online were a godsend.

Yeah, sue posted on FB about rhesus status, so I posted back on there.

  • Options
ww - you can download the official instruction manual from the clear blue website.
  • Options
ah Vickster, you're right I hope they're a bit more organised if I turn up in labour!! Glad your hubby is facing things now and you're off to get referred. It'll be great to know what's going on, then you can work from there.

clalee I remember your bfp, it was ages after mine as I tested so early and you so late! I was so willing you to test with every day you got beyond af being due. It was certainly not too much of a surprise when it was positive!

MrsM and they're all for babies of similar ages, so there are even more of them! I know it probably sounds a bit crap but I don't want to go to too many of them, I don't want my friends to only be other new mums. I need more than just talking about whether or not she's sleeping through the night yet! I'm glad I have the MA to think about as well actually, though I need to be doing more reading than I have so far. I'm finding it difficult to switch back into academic mode after a few years out of uni.

Yeah I was wondering if LM has a name yet - sue two weeks is a bit harsh isn't it!!

I also want MrsAd twin pics! I'm not sure we'll ever see her again though, it must be a mammoth amount of hard work.

Lib image You're almost third trimester!

Got a council tax reminder from our old house today, the morons. Turns out we're actually owed a refund of about ??150. I'm thinking about suggesting we use it to go a michelin starred restaurant nearby for one last nice meal out before baby. I'll see what M says.

Clalee- glad all went well with mw. Lol at baby kicking Doppler! The doctor told me the other day they don't like them much.

Ww- yay for cbfm and the postage refund! Annoying about thd instructions but at least you can get hold of them. I remember it seeming far more complicated than it was.

  • Options
Squeezed- lovely news about the refund. Hope hubby agrees with your idea- sounds lovely! X x
  • Options
Rachey it sounds like someone spread some luck to you then, definately the best way image

Clalee glad all is fine with baby L, how long have you got left at work now? Sounds like there is plenty for you to do with bubs if you feel like getting out of the house.

Wibble yay for finally getting your cbfm, I love mine. Hope you get sorted with some instructions.

Squeezed good luck with the reading, was talking to a woman at work yesterday who did her degree from home while working part time and the kids were at school. She said it was hard to find the time but was worth it even though she isn't using the degree now. Made me think that I really have no excuse not to be working towards a degree.

Since I have most of the day off (working a late, booooooo) I have been thinking about how we can redecorate. Hubs will be thrilled  We weren't going to bother in case we move next year but we are thinking of getting new sofas so I figured it could all match nicely.

    xx

squeezed - I think hubby and I were the only ones that were surprised when it was +ve. I'm sure he didn't actually believe it until he saw it in writting even though I'd done two tests before that. I guess the problem was we'd both got our hopes up the month before just for the test to be negative, we were mentally preparing for it to be negative.

I know what you mean about not wanting all your friends to be other new mums, it's something I'm a bit worried about. If we stay here I think I might be taking hubs and his collegues up on the offer of bits of consulting/programming work once we've got into the swing of parenthood just so I have something else in my life. It probably won't pay, but I'd get acknowledged on any publications that came out of it, which would be a huge bonus when I'm applying for a job in how ever many years it is. Hubs has wanted us to jointly author a paper for years, but we've both been busy with our own work.
