Hi Rachel, nice to meet you!! We are all lovely, and don't bite if you are willing to share a picture and some info about your new addition, we all love to see pictures. I'm karen I have Verity, she is my first, and an 'honoury' member of this group - she was due today, but arrived May 3rd.
Ladies, keep your fingers crossed for us - Verity has Dr's in the morning due to a very possible uti. I also think her issues regarding wind etc may be reflux, but I'll know more in the morning.
Ginabambino - totally get you! All the babies here are so stunning though, so worthy of spending a long time just looking at ♡
Welcome Racheal and congratulations on your little boy! I had a girl (Elodie) on 17 June which was 8 days past my due date of 9 June and I'm a first-time mum. Hope you are doing well ?
Lots of prayers and wishes please ladies...Verity got taken to a&e majors department just before midnight. We are now on a ward. She has had an xray, blood tests, and canular put in. It's her tummy, again please keep your fingers crossed that they don't jump to the conclusion of 'nec' again. I thought we were out of the woods, my poorly baby girl
karenlouise, we are sorry to hear Verity is back in hospital. Do they have any idea what's wrong with her? She's a tough cookie Karen - hang in there, and please keep us posted. Sending lots of love.
Sending you lots of love, hugs and prayers karenlouise. So sorry Verity is back in hospital, hoping she's ok and you can get her back home as soon as possible xxx
I'm so sorry that Verity is back in hospital karenlouise and am thinking of you. She is such a little fighter though - really hoping that they work out what's wrong and that she throws it off. Take care and try to get a bit of rest (though I know that must be impossible when you are so worried).
Hi all. Thanks for your lovely comments. We are finally heading home.
Basically, it was her tummy/bowel problems again. When we turned up at a&e last night, she was inconsolable. Her skin was mottled; and her pulse was racing. Her tummy was incredibly swollen and rock solid. She got kept in for the night and for today, being monitored whilst they ran various tests.
We have open access to the high dependant children's unit now. And if it happens again, she will be sent to the specialists at Southampton hospital for further testing and investigations - whether or not she needs surgery to solve the problem.
Now I'm going home, and spending the evening snuggled on the sofa with my special little fighter ♡
Thank goodness you're all home now karenlouise, great news. And that's good about the open access - are they going to investigate further or is this 'expected' as Verity is preemie?
Glad your home with Verity Karenlouise hope you dont have any further problems
Is anyone having any problem with where they were stitched up? I had my midwife check mine one monday and was told they had dissolved but i hadnt been stitched very tight and there was still a gap it should just heal over time but im still having quite abit of pain and discomfort down there and still bleeding quite alot. I gave in today and had a feel while in the shower and sorry TMI but where the tear started at my vagina i can actually put the tip of my finger in it surely thats not right? Im terrified i will have to be stitched again
Terrific news that you have Verity home karenlouise! Hope she was ok during the night. You must be so happy and relieved to have her back with you at home.
I'n sorry that you're having problems with your stitches NicNac. It sounds to me like it would be worth you contacting the midwife if there is a gap and if you are in pain. I know you really don't want to be stitched again (I can definitely empathise - I wouldn't either!) but better to have it investigated ? xx
Thanks Vixi. It is lovely to have her back. It did take a while for her to settle last night. But once she did, she slept really well. She is still asleep in fact - she had her feed at 8 ish, and went straight back, bless her. But that is good for me cos I am exhausted too!!! X
