Has it really been 4 months Milly? Edith is looking gorgeous in her little bow.

No rain here but it is a little cooler than it has been.

Im still suffering with an upset stomach (a week now!) and very swollen feet but my stomach seems to have halved in the last week and I can reach my toes and everything.

Doesnt sound like it'll be too long then Peanut? Here's hoping for you!

    Aww 4 months crikey! !

I think Milo has reflux and we're off to Dr's this morning :-( he will regularly choke when feeding (like if an adult accidently breathes in some of their drink) he takes a few second's to be able to catch his breath again and goes very rigid :,-( he also spits up alot during a feed (at least twice) and it comes out of his nose, then he's sick  1-2 hours after milk- so I'm terrified he's going to aspirate :-( as it's when he's asleep on his back..

We have wedged his crib and moses up on an angle and trying to burp him regularly during feeding, also upright feeding and keeping him upright for ages after a feed, but it's not changing much :-( he has alot of the symptoms reflux when I'm googling (shoot me I know I shouldn't)

I'm not keen on trying a different bottle or teat as my godson had reflux and his mum went through every teat and bottle and it changed nothing- it doesn't seem to be a problem getting the milk in its when it comes back up.. God help meeeeeee

Zoe, Edith suffers from reflux. We had a very scary experience when she was about 10/11 weeks old where we thought she was having a fit. We had to call an ambulance. She was very sick and it came down her nose too. She started shaking and went rigid. Her eyes were wide and startled. It sounded like she was chocking and was trying to clear her throat. She then went extremely pale and floppy and her breathing wasn't good, it was like she kept holding her breath. It was the longest 17 minutes for the ambulance to come! She was taken into hospital and we were given a diagnosis of reflux which was a complete surprise. We really thought it was some sort of fit. She was started on Ranitidine, but it didn't make much difference so was started on Gaviscon too. She now just takes Gaviscon and it has helped. Although the Gaviscon has made her a bit constipated so she is on something to help her with that. She also had a wedge in her Moses basket. They say babies are normally 3-6 months when they grow out of relflux or when they start on solids. Hopefully you'll get help from the doctor for little Milo. Let us know how you get on xxx

    Happy Birthday Laura!!

Zoe, sorry to hear Milo is poorly, I don't have any experience to offer help but hopefully the docs can sort something.

Thankyou for your replies ladies- I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with it all to be honest :,-(

Dr does think it's reflux but said alot of babies suffer with it and Milo is putting on weight albeit slowly (just over 2nd percentile!!) And did offer gaviscon but we declined as we didn't want it constipating him as he's only just got regular with pooing 😒

Sod law he hasn't choked today and fed like a dream at Dr's who wanted to watch at feed..he said he might have some colic too as he has occasionally been really unsettled at same time each evening (not every night-go figure)

OH took at "family day" today to escorts me to Dr's with 3yo too then we went to my mums and Milo was fine.. I just feel pretty shit and helpless and like I can't get a grip on things atm :(

How old is he now zoe? Ben is so unsettled the last week he doesn't sleep, he cries a lot and is so fidgety! Health visitor said today it's just baby being babies!! He's put on weight he will be 4 weeks tomorrow and 12lb 9!!! but he's on the right line for he's birth weight and length!!

We have queried if he's tongue tied, hubby thought he might be and a friend mentioned it too. Typically when health visitor came she couldn't get him to show he's tongue so she said she will refer us to clinic next week to get it checked. He feeds ok but is really noisey and can be dribbley with milk too which could be a sign. If he is I will not be able to be there when they cut it!!

Try not to feel shit Zoe, it's so hard when you can't settle them and don't know what's wrong, add in no sleep and hormones and it seems so much! I've felt the same at 3am when he's screaming and nothing comforts him!

Ben's not only out grown he's moses but I put him in he's be a bag and he looked huge today too 😂😂

Also has anyone got a Ewan the sheep? It's completely settled Ben twice today!! Pray this magic sheep keeps working and maybe try it out girls!!

Oh first ben is soooooo cute! Logan is tongue tied and it's right at the front they do not feel it when they cut it at all aslong as it's before 12 weeks otherwise you have to wait. They are only doing it as I'm lying about breastfeeding as in my borough that's the only reason they do it

zoe these things are hard Hun, just know we are here to hear you rant abd to hopefully help with all your worries. It's so hard when the drs Can't diagnose what's wrong but maybe try to keep him at an angle at night x

I don't know if ours do it or not cos I'm bottle feeding! He is feeding ok but I read it can cause speech problems later, I'm not 100% sure of he is it not it's hard to get a proper look! Did you notice Logan's or did someone else? Does he take he's bottles ok with it?

Nurseyzoe, how are you doing today? We're sorry to read things are tough - those early days with a newborn can really be so difficult - I remember them very well (I had a very colicky sicky baby).

Pe4nut - you there? All ok?

Much better today but I'm taking each feed as it comes..

He took a bit of time to sleep after 2am feed but I managed a few hours last night and no screaming which is an improvement.

Managed to get to the park today with my other son too which we haven't been "just us" in weeks so was great- both kids ended up screaming simultaneously as 1 wanted a feed and toddler fell over but I got through it 💪 so feeling pretty okay at mo!

Peanut you must of had your baby by now?? Hope your ok xx

imagePlease excuse the horrible mum pic but I had to take to prove he was in fact tongue tied!!! Our borough only do if you are breastfeeding which I'm not, but I'm lying as was advised to do so and have been booked in next week x

It can cause speech and eating problems but can also be harmless it literally is a gamble x

  • Options

Oh bless him! Ben's isn't that close to the end so maybe he's not and I'm paranoid! It's crazy they only do it for breast feeding cos it would still make latching on properly to the bottle hard!!

Vijays tounge tie wasnt as bad as Logans but he still had it snipped. He was 7 days old when it was done and slept right through it. I couldnt watch because i was too emotional at the time

I hope Peanut is having her baby for her sake. Let's keep things crossed for her.
