@Lorew they rang me yesterday and referred me to great ormond street hospital today as they had found brightenings on the heart. We are just on our way home now. Had a detailed scan of the babies heart, which is all formed and functioning perfectly, however the brightening combined with other mild complications such as the small cerebellum could be an indication of a chromosome or genetic condition such as Down’s syndrome so I may need further tests if the measurements are still down at my next scan on 29th. X
@Pinkypie I’m glad it was okay today hopefully little one has grown abit more by the next scan,we’re they able to see the gender for you today? thanks @Lorew! All went well baby is all good, weighing 11oz which seems so tiny 😂
@Pinkypie I'm so sorry it's been such an anxious time for you and continues to be. Having going through it myself it's like waiting is torture. Praying you get some definite answers soon. Have they advised amniocentesis? Xx
@Char09 have you been through similar with this pregnancy hun? I’ve been booked in for a scan and a MRI scan to look at the babies brain on 29th now, so I guess it depends what that shows. By the specialist at great ormond street today did say the might suggest an amniocentesis. If they do I’m going to ask if I can have the NIPT blood test instead? It might not be Down’s syndrome at all though, and if it’s damage to the brain that terrifies me!

We had a lovely Christmas it was nice that this year my little one could actually open presents and be excited! Last year he was only 3 months old so he had no idea 🤣
Thanks ladies, today went as well as it could really, the consultant actually did the scan and seemed to know his stuff and was much more reassuring than the last one! the cerebellum has grown and is now measuring with in the normal range, as is everything else. Baby is still small but within the normal range. The only slight concern is whether or not the Cavum Septum Pellucidum is present in the brain or not, he said he thought he could see it but the baby was in such an awkward position he couldn’t be certain it was that as he was looking at it from the wrong angle and shadowing etc makes it difficult, so he wants to see the results of the mri which should be able to get images for different angles to confirm if it’s there. Have to go back next Friday for the results and another scan to check the growth again. He seemed to think it was just because I have small babies and the positioning made it difficult to see, but can’t be certain of that until we get the mri results. X
@Pinkypie was your scan yesterday? Hopefully you got even more reassuring news. It sounds like you just make small babies. I have the opposite problem 😫

@Lorew sorry for delay in replying, my consultant appointment went really well, my mri results all came back normal, the baby’s brain is fully developed for this stage and measuring as it should! Which is a massive relief!! Baby is growing well too - at the 20 week scan I was told baby was on the 5th centile, then at almost 22 weeks it had gone up to the 14th and at almost 23 weeks it was the 18th centile!
Still don’t know if we are team pink or blue, so we’ve booked a private gender scan for next week.

I've just been signed off work with pregnancy related anxiety. I'm not worried about any aspect of the pregnancy but I think the hormones are giving me panic attacks. Seeing a specialist doctor later this week so hope to have it under control soon x
@Lorew@Claire1234939 I still don’t know 😫😩🙈 our gender scan got cancelled due to staff having covid! I’m starting to think we will never know until the birth!! 😂 I can’t fit the scan in anytime soon due to work and other appointments, so hoping they will tell me when we see the consultant again in a couple of weeks!

Hi, we are doing good thank you, a bit achey now with a bigger bump and the pressure from the weight of it and probably weak stomach muscles due to lots of pregnancies!! But overall feeling pretty good. Got my son at home this week off nursery with chicken pox 🙈 @Lorew I asked the baby’s sex again at my last scan with consultant, was measuring the femur and then said oh you wanted to know didn’t you, moved the probe and then said oh babies just closed it’s legs, but I think it was a girl but I wouldn’t put my house on it!! 🙄 it hasn’t left me feeling very confident it is a girl 😂 I’m going to ask again on Monday as I have another scan with someone different so going to ask for a second opinion! Really hope baby is in a good position so they can tell easier!
